Environmental Policy Statement
Andrew Weir Shipping Ltd. (AWSL) recognises its responsibility to provide technical and operational shipping management services in a manner that safeguards the environment by efficient use of materials and natural resources, seeking to reduce wastage by increasing the reuse and recycling of materials. AWSL is committed to minimise any detrimental impact that its business activities may have on environmental issues by operating an ISO 14001 compliant Environmental Management System within the London office and undertaking the following:- regularly reviewing the environmental policy is to ensure it remains appropriate to the nature, scale and environmental impacts of its activities and services;
- evaluating environmental performance for continual improvement and prevention of pollution by setting and reviewing environmental targets;
- strictly complying with applicable legal requirements and with and any other environmental requirements to which AWSL subscribe;
- setting and reviewing environmental objectives and targets to cover, air quality, waste management, recycling, water management, and reducing energy and resource consumption in line with current best practice;
- ensuring that this policy is understood, implemented and advocated at all levels in the organisation and is supported by appropriate guidance and training;
- making this policy available to the public and communicating our progress in reducing environmental impact to interested internal and external parties and responding appropriately to reasonable requests for information.
This policy statement forms part of the documentation for the AWSL Environmental Management System.
